i have both dropbox and syncplicty as my webstores ..... dropbox is the smaller of the two and i was wondering how i can redirect joplin to use syncplicity instead.

What mechanism does syncplicity work by? i.e. does this have WebDAV or is it more of a file storage sync? If it doesn't support WebDAV then you probably need to use a local file system sync where you write to a local target that is then sync'd by your service.

You should take a full JEX backup of your data first before changing your sync target, just in case the worst should happen
