Dear all,

FTS enabled:1

Joplin Win10

Joplin 2.8.8 (prod, win32)

Client ID: 93b4d64441354ca0842a4446f5ff542d

I was sync my Joplin Win10 and several Android devices thru One Drive.

Now that I want to change to sync to a S3 compatible storage.

I start the change on my Joplin Win10 first and I successfully sync all my Joplin Win10 notes to the S3 storage.

Then I try to do the same for the Joplin on my Mi-Note10 Android device, but it failed with the error:
" Sync Target is locked - aborting API Call"
Joplin Android_Sync target is locked_2022.0808

-> I noted the Synchronization Note say that "Deleted remote items: 585"

-> then I checked my S3 storage and find that there are only "9933 files" with size 1.131GB
but my previous backup is "9953 files" with 1.136GB

-> so obviously Joplin Android really deleted some of my Joplin Win10 notes!

so How to restore the deleted notes from my saved copies of Joplin Win10 in my S3 storage?

and what is the proper way to sync my Joplin Android to the S3 compatible storage?

Can some Guru give an hand?

Thanks for any kinds of help!

I have just take the following procedures to restore Joplin Win10 from the saved copy in S3 storage:

  • Completely uninstall "Joplin Win10" using RevoUPort.exe

  • delete the "joplin-desktop" folder: c:/<user_home>/.config/joplin-desktop

  • re-install Joplin Win10

  • on the S3 storage: delete all the files and folders in "joplin-sync" bucket and restore the saved backup

  • set the Joplin Win10 to sync to S3 again.

I will try doing the same for my Android devices
