I saw that an attempt was made to update TinyMCE to version 6 (Github #7277), but has since been rolled back due to complexities (Github:Chore: Downgrade TinyMCE back to v5)
Any word on future updates for TinyMCE?
Would be interesting for me too, since TinyMCE 5 reached end of support. Maybe we could even evaluate different editors and see if there are any benefits? On the top of my mind are:
- Milkdown: Made at good impression to me at first try and seems to play well with markdown directly (avoiding the error-prone Markdown - HTML conversion that is done with TinyMCE)
- CKeditor: already discussed in the forum
