I believe the WYSIWYG editor on windows (I'm using the portable version) in TinyMCE? If not, please ignore, but us there a way to tell which version on TinyMCE Joplin uses?

Looks like it's using TinyMCE v5.2.0

thanks for pointing me where to look. i'm not a s/w developer so i'm not sure what the effort level would be, but there are some fairly significant changes in the later versions (v5.8.2 is the latest). probably not high on the priority list since it's currently working very well for me, but are there any current plans on updating to a later version?

There aren't any immediate plans that I'm aware of. But I'm sure if there was a justifiable reason to update it would be updated right away.
