Sync target

Nextcloud

What issue do you have?

have a local instance with many notes
I want to synchronize Joplin on Notebook and Tablets

Therefore I want to synchronize with Nextcloud first, an "initial filling"
but whenever I start the synchronisation process I get a warning that the local files will be deleted...

This is not very handy.. how can I start a "one-way-synchronisation" to the central folder in the cloud?
I find no info in the documentation

Does Joplin assume that you always start with an empty local instance or what?

Please help,

Connie

As Joplin uses two way sync, an empty sync target synced with existing local data will cause all your local data to be deleted, but this is prevented by the fail-safe. To transfer your local data to the new NextCloud target, you can do the following:

On the desktop app, under tools, options, synchronization, advanced settings, use the ‘re-upload local data to sync target’ option

thank you so much, I think this info belongs into the documentation

I will try immediately!

Cheers and thanks, Connie
