What issue do you have?

I had a problem with the synchronisation. I therefore deleted the Android client and set it up again. Then I restarted the synchronisation (i.e. from the beginning). The client does not finish the synchronisation. It keeps restarting from the beginning and the first action is always remote delete. It's now been three days and it's still not finished. I also think that it has deleted pretty much everything in the meantime.

This is now the third attempt to synchronise the mobile client from scratch again. I did a force upload from a Windows version of Joblin to have a complete state.

How do I fix the problem?

Joplin does not have a background sync on mobile devices. When Joplin is closed, sent to the background or the device is put into sleep (display off), the sync is interrupted. For initial sync it's important to keep it foreground and awake.

On the windows client, go to Help > Synchronization status. How big is the total under the sync status section? If it is a very large number then yes it will take a long time for the intitial sync on a new device and you will need to keep the screen on for the duration of the sync on an Android device
