Support for webm?

Are there any plans to support embedding WebM videos in the future? I need to embed several screen caps in my notes but I’m currently stuck converting WebM to .Gif, which is often 10 times bigger than a WebM file. As far as I know there is no support for other ways to embed videos in notes.

I don’t know how hard this would be as I’m no developer. One could leave the rendering and playback up to the device. Some HTML tags are supported so maybe implementing the <video> tag could provide a solution?

I created an account just to bump this. We really need this. It’s crazy that I have to convert 1mb webm files to 10mb gif files just to get them into Joplin.

There’s currently no plan to support videos. For now, you can attach them to notes and view them with an external player.
