Despite the fact that we hear a lot about Bitcoins I've never seen it being supported by any major payment processor. None of the services I use such as PayPal, GitHub, Patreon or even the more independent ones such as Liberapay accept Bitcoins. This is missing the point. The OP suggested using a Stable Coin. Stable coins are linked to some Fiat currency, in the suggested ones the USD. There is essentially no more fluctuation than you get with the US dollar. However, for what its worth, PayPay has their own Stablecoin PYUSD. If someone converted some paypal balance to pyusd (conversion is instantaneous), and Laurent had added PYUSD to his Paypal account, then a PayPal donation made to Laurent would offer PYUSD and the transfer could be made in that stablecoin. The cost would be 0.9% (currently) as opposed to about 3% for a credit card.

You do need to prove your identity to PayPal. I needed to use my cell phone to link to a form, take a picture of my face, and then take a picture of a government photo ID. Took 15 minutes.
