Suggestion about handling dups in the forums

TL;DR = always give original issue link before closing something as a dup.

I’ve been searching up some of my (new user) questions in the forums, and several times I have seen topics I wanted to read more about in which the thread(s) were closed as a dup of something else. It would be great if the powers that be could link what they felt the original was. That way when folks like me come poking around looking for answers to their questions they can actually find those original issues.

Proper engineering practice (in my non-dev experience) should require that nothing can be dup’ed without the source info.

You make a good point, once there are enough duplicates they tend to drown the original (leading to more duplicates).
