The new 3.0 has a feature to add more columns to the note list. The 'tag' column is also an option. The release notes on the website mention that it is possible to sort on all these columns. Except it is not possible to sort on tags?

The tag field can contain multiple values. How would the sort work?
For example:
apple, fruit, green
banana, fruit, yellow
fruit, green, pear
grapefruit, fruit, yellow
This list is sorted but does not appear to be all that useful.
I guess that tags are better used for filtering (e.g. tag:fruit tag:yellow) rather than sorting?

My use case is to sort tags on priority. Following a getting-things-done (GTD) method.
For example tags on a each individual note: 1-now, 2-next 3-later
Currently my workaround to sort tags is by using the note-overview plugin
Referring to answer your question; if a note has multiple tags then these could be sorted alphabetically first? Now it isn't possible. but mentioned as 'feature'
