Since OneDrive sync error this morning each sync fetches all items?

Has anyone seen updated on when this might be fixed? Currently, Joplin sync without end (ever-increasing update counts) on all platforms I use (Win 10 & iOS) so it's effectively unusable until there's a resolution.

No changes for me. I also tried to reinstall/resync Joplin to test if this is similar to the delta-link error from several weeks ago. Problem still persists.

I cant deal with these problems so I switched to Dropbox. I cannot recommend it, because sync is horribly slow (seems to be artificially limited by Dropbox), but at least it works. If OneDrive starts working again I will switch back. In the long run I will switch to a (self-) hosted Nextcloud or Joplin Server.

Experienced the same issue.
Joplin 1.2.6 on Linux
Joplin 10.5.1 on iOS 12.4.8
Switched to Nextcloud to sync.
Created a free account at cloudamo.com.
Sync working again.

Did this problem occur on your Business account? As far as I can see the problem should only occur for Personal Accounts ...

Fix looks to be on the way: https://github.com/laurent22/joplin/pull/4324

If you have this sync issue with OneDrive, please give a try to the latest version: Release v1.6.5 · laurent22/joplin · GitHub

Yup, v1.6.5 fixes this issue, now we just have to wait for the next mobile release with this patch.

Edit: The issue appears to still be happening now and then but not every time. I'll run some more tests and see if I can find a more consistent cause for the issue.

Edit: The issue appears to still be happening now and then but not every time

Are you sure about that? It is normal that each client makes a full sync one more time after upgrading to v1.6.5 but only one last time. Also the synchronization might be a little bit slower than before - especially when you delete/add/modify a lot of files in OneDrive (but still orders of magnitude faster than making a full sync each time)

I'll run some more tests and see if I can find a more consistent cause for the issue.

That would be great.

Does anybody else still have these problems with v 1.6.5?

How do I install a pre-release on Linux? Been having this problem but I'm a beginner and I've been using the standard wget command to update

discourse is confusing me somehow. This post shall be an answer to @kami but somehow it is not showing as a reply ...

wget -O - https://raw.githubusercontent.com/laurent22/joplin/dev/Joplin_install_and_update.sh | bash -s -- --prerelease

It works, thank you so much @johnny !

This came up recently I think. It seems that if you press reply to somebody who isn't the last reply (like this one) then you get the link showing so but if they are at the end of the thread then it doesnt show.

My desktop wanted to do a full sync as you suggested it would, after which it was fine.

My Win10 laptop on the other hand continued experiencing the issue. I know this won't help anyone else but after a few hours of retrying, testing, re-installing, looking for anything unusual in logs, etc. I gave up, deleted the joplin-desktop folder, set everything back up, had it sync, and it appears to be fine now. I don't know what caused the issue, but it was clearly something local on my device that is now gone.

Thank you, Laurent, & jonath92 for the help.

Working fine for me with 1.6.5 on Win10 1909 but only after deleting joplin-desktop folder.

edit: also tried on Android, had to clear application data to get sync working properly again.

This OneDrive syncing issue is causing battery drain on my devices (and headaches trying to debug it!).

My experience across the various platforms:

  • v1.6.6 on Mac - installing the new version resolved (worked around?) the issue without any explicit actions on my behalf
  • v1.6.6 on Windows - installing the new version resolved (worked around?) the issue, but only after deleting the joplin-desktop folder and reconfiguring the application from an blank config
  • v1.5.1 on Android - still performing a full resync of all notes upon every sync. I've tried the suggestion above (clearing Joplin's application data) and it hasn't helped address the issue.
  • v10.5.1 on iOS - still performing a full resync of all notes upon every sync. I've tried to see if something like the Android suggestion above (clearing Joplin's application data) would help here. So I deleted the app then reinstalled/reconfigured it. Doesn't appear to have helped at all.

To reproduce the issue I simply perform a full sync, and then initiate another sync as soon as the first full sync is complete. If the second sync is also a full sync then I know that whatever I've changed hasn't improved the situation. For me a full sync is 9404 fetched items so it takes a while.

Do we have any idea when the fix introduced in v1.6.5 is likely to make it to the mobile applications This really isn't helping their battery life.

Thanks, Matt

So far, there are still errors in onedrive synchronization. It has been nearly a week. I no longer hope for the fix. I started using Google Drive. . .

You can download Android 1.6.6 from: Releases · laurent22/joplin-android · GitHub. Not sure about ios though.
