Run Joplin on a flashdrive on OSX?

Hey all,

I'm trying to figure out a note taking solution for a group project that involves several users on different operating systems (Ubuntu, OSX, Win10, maybe Android).

Joplin looks great and I love the program but one of the requirements is our notes need to be encrypted not just in sync, but at rest.

I have found the threads and feature requests to add this functionality, and have seen people suggesting using Joplin on a Veracrypt encrypted flashdrive. I'm wondering how this would be possible on OSX seeing as there isn't a portable version.
