This is regarding project idea number 3 under the GSoC project idea list. I am eager to contribute for this cause can someone help me with how to get started, should I make a proposal regarding how the new segregated markdown files should be made, or the mentors will guide me as how to proceed for the same.
It would be great help if the mentors can provide any information about how to get started with this idea #3.
The idea of this phase of GSoC is for you to get familiar with the application, community and codebase etc.
So really you just need to follow the GSoC guidelines, get familiar with the project and the community then come back once you have an idea that people can feed back on.
For example: step one is really meant to be an introduction to yourself as it appears you haven't been involved in the community prior to this so it is good to know who you are, what your interest in the project is and any relevant background info.
Remember that we are also looking for examples of contribution outside of the project ideas themselves so just creating a draft proposal right off the bat probably isn't the best way to go about it if you want to be considered. Note:
Before you can be accepted as a contributor we expect you to write some code and link that work on your proposal
If you have any specific questions about the project ideas then ask away.
Hi there,
you are doing?
Are you getting along well as the serious phase is about to start?
Any help required on how to read Joplin's codebase and how to fix an issue easily?
good luck
