Open attached file mac

I'm a new user, can't figure out how to open an attachment on my macbook

for example I attached a file to a note and it looks like this...

ApogeeDuetUsersGuideV2(1).pdf

I don't know how to open the file! I searched on this site under "open attachment"

For me, I can drag a PDF into the editor, and then click the link in the "rendered view"

yes! I used "Toggle editor layout" in view and got the view you show in your post and was able to open the attachment. Thank you!
