Notes aren't saving.
Behaviour:
• new note created, appears in note list as either "Untitled" or the first 6 or 7 characters that I entered in the title field.
• when I click away, the entry remains in the note list but anything I've entered in the body of the note is missing when I return to the note.
Similarly, when I try to edit the body or title of an existing note, none of these changes are preserved.
If I save a note using the Joplin Web Clipper in Chrome the note appears correctly in my notes list but, as above, any subsequent edits can't be saved.
Not sure if it's related, but I'm also unable to search my notes. I get zero results unless I put a virgule [/] at the front of the search terms
(Failure to save and search issue both occur in Safe Mode as well as regular mode.)
Further detail:
This started happening after moving from Big Sur to a new Mac running Sequioa. I'm wondering whether there could have been some kind of corruption to my notes folder.
This is further supported by the fact that if I choose "Open secondary app instance" from the File menu (which I'm guessing starts a clean notes database with just the standard welcome notes) everything is fine.
BUT… there's no issue with my existing database in the synced iOS app.
On mobile I can add new notes, save changes, and so on, working in my regular notes collection.
I'm wondering if I should export my current collection and import it into a new collection?
So the following steps appear to have solved the issue:
Created a new Profile (in primary app instance)
Exported everything from my Default profile
Imported that file into the new profile
Now I can save changes, new notes, etc.
And search works without having to add a virgule (or /) in the front.
It does seem like there was some kind of corruption. Still curious about what might have happened, but at least I have a solution. Will go back and delete the contents of the Default profile now.
