Hello, I'm on Windows 10, using Joplin 2.8.8 portable app.
I'm wondering if anybody else has this issue:
When I try to update a plugin, I get the following error message:
Could not install plugin: Error: EISDIR: illegal operation on a directory, readlink 'E:<long directory path>\joplin,plugin.alondmnt.history-panel.jpl'.
I see a github issue for this with no real response other than to "use the portable app", which I am currently doing. Can't update plugins on windows with Joplin 1.7.10 / 1.7.11 · Issue #4533 · laurent22/joplin · GitHub
I'm not able to update any plugins, but I can install new plugins.
@bak welcome to the forum.
Just for info, this has been reported in this forum before and a GitHub issue has been raised.
I am using JoplinPortable.exe from a USB stick that travels to different computers. On 3/3 computers, I am unable to update to the latest version of a plug-in.

When I try to update to later versions of the plug-ins, I get this error message

My work-around is to delete the plug-in and then add it again.

## Steps to reproduce
1. Pull down menu TOOLS
2. Select OPTIONS
3. Select PLUGINS on left sidebar
I have these plugins installed and visible:
"Convert Text to New Note v1.5.1"
"Random Note v1.0.0"
and "Templates v1.1.1"
Random Note and Templates have a visible button UPDATE
4. I click the update button on TEMPLATES

5. I click OK to close this messagebox.
6. I click on the UPDATE button for "Random Note"

7. I click on OK to close this messagebox.
## Describe what you expected to happen
I expected the plugins to update as they did before I moved from Joplin.exe to JoplinPortable.exe
The GitHub issue has been tagged "backlog".
