What issue do you have?

I have been using a Nextcloud server hosted on mia.nl.tab.digital but that has disappeared. I've read the FAQ about moving to a new server, but as it can no longer be contacted I cannot follow those instructions.

There are at least three PCs and two Android phones with access to the server. On at least the three PCs there are also changes that will now be out of sync (but we think no changes made directly on phones). I read the FAQ (particularly the bit about losing files) but also the instructions assume that the server is present to copy the data from, which it isn't.

I have already taken a backup on the PCs as JEX files and I see that I can do the same on the phones. I can also do RAW exports on the PCs as backup/comparison.

Under Advanced synchronisation, Fail-Safe is checked.

Also, in the Windows version (but not Android) under Advanced synchronisation is "Re-upload local data to sync target". This looks like it will be helpful - but can this be run multiple times from each PC? I am concerned that it will overwrite newer versions from one PC with older versions (each PC run sequentially, with the last ending up being the notes that remain). Alternatively, if I run this from one PC to setup the Nextcloud server and then simply synchronise on other PCs will they be able to intelligently combine their versions of notes (creating new ones and modifying any that they have changed)?

I have already created a new Nextcloud account on a new server. One day I will migrate to my own server on my own PC.

(And yes I know my version of Joplin is old but no newer version works with Windows 7, which is itself also old).

Forget that - it's a DNS issue. If I point a PC at pi-hole it fails to resolve (even if the pi-hole is set to disabled...). If I change to the same DNS settings pi-hole uses then it works. Many other address resolve (including another one on the tab.digital server). A mystery but I don't need to move the files!
