Missing notes & notebooks

Hello there,
I have the problem that several notebooks went missing.

I noticed it as I wanted to add a note via the webclipper and couldn’t find the notebook I was aiming for.

It seems that the notes don’t seem to be gone for good. If I e.g. search for a word contained in one of the missing notes in the Joplin folder on Nextcloud I get a “xxx.md” file displayed. If i open it in a texteditor like sublime I can see that this is one of the missing notes.

Is there a way to get the notes back into joplin?

I don’t think that debugging will help, but it pushed me in the direction of reading the log.txt. and it seems that 10 days ago my total amount of folders was reduced by 8 caused by an update of the FTS table ?

Same for me whhen using Joplin with nextcloud WebDav. Note turns up in Nextcloud folder but cannot be found in Joplin. Importing the note into Joplin results in the sourcecode (XML?) beeing displayed in Joplin.
Same for Joplin on Win10 and Android.

  • Were files in the folder modified manually or with other programs?
  • Have you deleted the note (Than this is from the note history)
  • Is the type_:1 in the file?

There are several options for restoring the note:

  1. Ctrl+Shift+P, then restoreNoteRevision NOTE_ID
  2. Copy the content from the file
  3. You can create a empty folder and place the file in it and then try to import it via 'RAW - Joplin export Directory'

Thanks for your help!
For your questions:

  1. At least I did not change anything intentionally.
  2. Did not delete
  3. type_: 13

On restoring the note I get the following

  1. does not work, I get an error 'No revision for note "7777fe5981b14ee2b8921a3f993ae66c"'
  2. would require some manual formatting as the content is not really human readable
  3. results in error message:

This is a revision (only difference from a note), not a note and can't be imported.

The note id is: d193a2f2d701467fb91ac1f3b4b30e61, so you can try restoreNoteRevision d193a2f2d701467fb91ac1f3b4b30e61
