Markdown isn't translating after recent update (bolding, bulleted lists, etc)

What issue do you have?

Common markdown features haven't worked in the last few months after an update. Bolding (bold), bulleted lists (* list item), and others don't display correctly like they used to. Also, tab does nothing (does not insert a tab or spaces), and indentations using spaces disappear later.
