Maintain Nested Tags from Evernote Import by Using "/"

Would it be possible to maintain the nested tags structure when importing from Evernote (ENEX) by simply creating a tag such as the following: Tag/Nested Tag?

I’m not familiar with the ENEX format to know if it makes nested tags structure too ambiguous to do this or even if it strips it entirely.
