Jumping to a section of a note you linked

No, you can create anchors manually as described above.

In general the project strives to support all languages so there's a chance it should work. If it doesn't please let me know and provide an example (because I can't type Russian).

Great feature and works well, thanks!

I’ve tried use russian header as anchor, but it doesn’t work. My Jex file.

@laurent do you have any news about anchors?

Should be fixed in next release.

Thank you!

I am testing this in 1.0.179 but it does not seem to work, both as # Ancher nor as <a id="ancher></a>. I am sure I have seen it work before from HTML-code from websites I webclipped in earlier releases.

Would it be possible to also use # anchors in long tables, since I prefer the MD-way compared to the HTML-way?

I did as you described and it works well to link from noteA to a specific header or anchor in noteB, however I'm having trouble doing the same to go from one section of noteA to another section of noteA, the link just doesn't work and I can't move within the same note. This is frustrating because I'm trying to have a table of contents for each note, instead of having a table of contents note. Thanks for your time.

You could just put [[toc]] at the top of your note?
You can even install the Outline plugin if you want it as a sidebar

Thanks! That works, I just have one question about Outline, why does it only show the H3 headings? Is there a way to change that?

Not sure what you mean? It works for H1, 2, 3 and 4 for me.

I see the problem now, it seems it only works with (#) notation and not (==) and (--) notation. I'll just have to rewrite my headings, but it works.

Aah, right, yes that is a limitation of it: GitHub - cqroot/joplin-outline: A markdown outline (TOC) sidebar plugin for Joplin.

  • Support atx-style headers ( # ), not setext-style headers ( --- , === ).

I have the same issue. Can't jump to links within the same note. Is this a bug?

I can't link to sections within the same note. Neither headers nor explicit links seem to work. I'm using:

Hello, I still can't jump to links inside the same note. This only happens in windows, links within the same note work fine in Android and iOS.

I have the same issue as lumogas. So link text that works just fine from another note does not work in the same note.

And I've since discovered that the TOC feature DOES work....

Would be nice to be able to jump to an anchor in the same note. It seems to be not possible after reading this (and other) threads. Also experimented and it doesn't work within the same note...

Works for me on v3.1.20.

But...
On some notes, in some cases, when going to another note - it just jumps in the middle of the note and not to the anchor.
I can't tell the difference between the notes for which this bug is applicable.
Sometimes works correctly when clicking on hyperlink for the 2nd time.

Seems unstable - probably has some relation to the known bug of the cursor jumping to the beginning of the note.

Same problem here.
It seems to make a "double" jump:

  1. jump to the correct place inside the linked note
  2. move to another place place inside the linked note
With the current version we can consider as not working correctly.
