I am considering buying a MS Surface laptop, with qualcomm snapdragon x plus cpu. Search on forum shows people having issues with it running normally (slow response, typing lag) in recent past, and, looks like there is request in 'development'.
Have these issues been addressed? Is Joplin confirmed good to go on the qualcomm snapdragon x plus?
On the other hand, Google is planning to release a Pixel Laptop that runs on ARM, and Android apps should work there. However, that would also require changes to Joplin’s Android version so it feels more like a desktop app.
there is an 'emulation' layer, prism, that supposedly works pretty well. I will be picking up a surface laptop tomorrow and will try out Joplin, and a few other apps. Hopefully I won't see a difference. if so, i'll return the computer.
Microsoft Surface laptops are more modern devices, and the Electron framework (which Joplin uses) has supported ARM since Windows 10.
Treating the emulator as a transition aid is key. When moving to new tech, you’ll need to gradually replace legacy apps that don’t keep up with the newer platform.
