Joplin mobile for android sync error

  • Android 10
  • Joplin 1.4.11
  • Syncthing (Joplin set to file system target)

Logged Error

"Error: Error: Could no vead dictory: /storage/emulated/0/Joplin Notes/locks: Attempt to get length of null array. Path: /storage/emulated/0/Joplin Notes/locks

Steps tried to resolve

  • gave Joplin storage permissions
  • removed/re-added lock directory
  • restarted tablet

Summary

When I try and sync, I get the above error. This has happened with other installations on both mobile and desktop, but simply adding the missing directory as outlined in this thread had always worked, until now: "Error: Could not read directory" on android 10
