Joplin didn't save changes locally (requires sync?)

Howdy

using Joplin 1.8.5 on Mac and syncing to WebDAV

the other day, I made an update to a note, and I guess it was before the sync ran, i closed Joplin down. When i reopened Joplin, my note updates were missing.

Do i need to run Synchronize before shutting Joplin down? To be honest I'm a little hesitant to use/trust Joplin at the moment. I rely on Joplin to remember things for me, not to be as forgetful as I am!

is this a bug? is there are way to ensure it doesn't happen? is there any reason this would happen? (my assumption was that Joplin would save locally and then worry about sync; and on shutdown it should ensure any staged data is written to disk and even synced)

anyone else seen this before?

cheers!

Normally it should save any unsaved note before closing. How did you close the app?
