Hi everyone!
I’m Yaseen Ron, a final-year undergraduate student with hands-on experience building web & mobile applications using TypeScript, React, React Native and Node.js and Integrating llm Api’s. I’ve also completed internships where I worked on real-world applications end-to-end.
I’m interested in contributing to Joplin as part of Google Summer of Code 2026.
While going through the ideas list, I found two projects that align well with my skills and Interest.
• Chat with your note collection using AI
• AI-supported search for notes
- I’ve personally faced situations where I knew the context of a document but couldn’t recall the exact keywords or filename, making traditional search ineffective
- Allowing users to describe what they’re looking for in natural language would significantly improve discoverability in large note collections.
- This idea aligns well with my experience building applications and integrating AI features, and I’m confident I can approach it efficiently and effectively.
- I believe this feature would provide real, everyday value to Joplin users managing large knowledge bases.
- I believe a similar AI-based search experience in Joplin could greatly improve note discoverability for users with large knowledge bases. I’m currently reviewing the codebase and preparing a strategy to approach this project effectively and efficiently.
I am looking forward to connecting with the community and discuss the approach how effectively and efficiently we could solve this project idea.
Thankyou!
Yaseen Ron.
