My name is Punay Kukreja, and I’m excited to begin contributing to Joplin as a GSoC 2026 participant.
About me
I’m a B.Tech Computer Science student with a primary focus on backend engineering and building scalable full-stack applications. I enjoy working close to the system layer—designing APIs, handling data flow, and building reliable services. I regularly build projects to deepen my understanding of real-world architectures and explore how different components interact in production systems.
My technical experience includes:
C++, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python
Node.js, Express.js, Next.js, and React
Designing backend systems, REST APIs, and real-time applications
Working with MongoDB and data modeling
Building AI-powered workflows using LangChain and LangGraph
Exploring system design, distributed systems, and DevOps fundamentals
Why Joplin
I’m drawn to Joplin because of its strong open source community, privacy-first philosophy, and meaningful real-world use case. Tools that help people manage knowledge effectively have a lasting impact, and contributing to such a system is both technically and personally motivating.
I’m currently exploring the codebase, documentation, and open issues to get familiar with the project and contribution workflow. I look forward to learning from the community and contributing consistently.
