Importing causes duplication of folders

I have Joplin 1.4.19, in Win 10 Pro 2004.

For me, sync works fine.

I'm now experimenting with import/export for permanent backups.

Here's what I did:

  • Take a screenshot of notebooks, and notes from the currently selected notebook.
  • Do an export
  • Delete a current notebook. Add a new notebook. Add some notes, delete some notes (all of which are visible in the first screenshot).
  • Import the previously exported file.

Everything looks OK, except that notebooks are duplicated. The dups are marked with "(1)"

Question 1: Should I simply delete everything before doing an import?

Question 2: If Yes, is there a 1-click for delete everything?

It depends on your goal. A import adds the notes every time again, therefore every import recreates the notes.

Question 2: If Yes, is there a 1-click for delete everything?

You can select all you notes and click on delete

Thanks for that. I also needed to delete all notebooks - which was another single click.

After that, the import worked fine.
