What issue do you have?

Have two joplin apps running on desktop pc and notebook. the pc holds the original data, the notebook holds the same data (backup) by import from desktop by jex file.
I encountered the problem that by import a second time from destop to notebook joplin duplicates all data and a third time one has a triple of all data and so on.
So the interim solution for me is to delete all data in the joplin backup app on the notebook and then import the jex file into the empty app.
A side problem is the delete of all data as the app allows only on deletion on a note-directory by one, there is no feature to delete them in one go.

When importing a JEX file all the imported notes are treated as new and get new ID references, hence the duplication / triplication.

From the way you phrased your question, do you not use a sync service for your clients and want to manually copy your notes from the primary client to the secondary / backup client?

Yes, exactly.
By the way, I found under advanced sync options the button for deleting all data which is probably the way to use.

I believe that you would need sync set up to use these clear all / resync buttons.

There is another way.

On your secondary / backup client fully quit Joplin and then delete all the contents of the folder C:\Users\Username\.config\joplin-desktop. Do not restart this client yet.

Then fully quit your primary client and copy the contents of C:\Users\Username\.config\joplin-desktop on that primary client to the now empty joplin-desktop folder on your secondary client.

When you next start your secondary client it will be a duplicate of your primary client, including plugins etc.

The method is slightly different if all or one of your clients is the "portable" version.

I just checked the other way you proposed and it works like a charm. Thank you.
I suppose I will use this procedure for my setup.

By the way in terms of setup. I also have an android tablet using the joplin app as backup to take my notes with me. Here I cannot use the procedure above though because no joplin-desktop folder.
Here I use the profile feature to import the jex file.
I name the profile "import". Before every import I delete and renew it and then import.
It's kind of a tricky use.
