Image & PDF trouble in Linux & no WYSIWYG

Hello,
I'm a new Joplin user who has recently migrated from Win 10 to Linux Mint v 20.2, and from Evernote to Joplin.

First, I can only find the Markdown option - how do I enable WYSIWYG?

Many of my imported notes have lost their images - some notes lost some images, some lost them all. Same with PDFs - some imported, some didn't. I'd sure like to get these notes back to their full glory - the images often have data in them, and the pdf files, well, I'd have to go thru all my notes & find the ones that are pdf, and then try to relocate them - and some of them will no longer be available.

But the image problem must be resolved. There are two instances I can relate where they are not working: one is if I try to insert a screenshot into a pre-existing note, using clip/copy/paste or clip/save/drag&drop. When I do try to use the screenshot option in the web clipper, the clip disappears with seemingly no way of retrieving it.

The other instance is clipping a simplified page or selection from a website - sometimes this works, and other times not.

I've created the flags.txt as instructed and now have a code/debugging window that says there are 6 warnings, but can't find the warnings. The log.txt file is over 4MB but I could isolate & attach today's entries if that would help.

And one last question: are there no font options beyond B, I, & U? No ability to change colors etc?
