How to start open source contribution

Respected Sir/Madam,
I am Shreyansh Priyadarshi, I am a second-year BTech undergrad at NIT Rourkela. I have just entered my fourth semester. I am interested in an open-source contribution to your organization as my skills match your technologies mentioned in the GSoC portal. I have a good command over full-stack web development(HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Javascript, Node, React, APIs, MongoDB).
I would love to contribute to your organization as a fresher as it will help me to brush up on my skills.
Please guide me through this.

Welcome.

Start by checking out the project and setting up your dev environment. Once you're able to build the project (maybe just the desktop version for starters) you can pick an issue from the tracker focusing on those marked "Medium" or "High" and try fixing it.
