How do you copy and paste a note, across notebooks?

OS: Windows 10 ; Joplin version: 3.4.6(prod,win32)

Looks like I’m missing something., but couldnt find an easy way to copy a note in a notebook and paste it in a different notebook. When I right click on a note, all I see are options to “Copy Markdown Link” and “Copy External Link”. I dont want to copy the links, but the whole note(including contents).

I can move the note from one notebook to another, by click-n-dragging the note to the target location..,but I want to copy(ie duplicate) across notebooks. Right now,I’m forced to duplicate the note within the notebook and then move it(via drag-n-drop).

its such a basic feature, that am sure I’m missing something!?

On a related topic, with the note open , I tried to “Edit–> Select all” in an attempt to copy, but that doesnt work either.

pls advise,thanks

Selecting all text in the editor and copying it would be the way to do this, what's the issue that's happening when you try to use select all?

I would say this is the best way right now, especially if you want to be sure that the note contents match 100%. That said, I think it would be nice if you could duplicate notes faster, e.g. by simply selecting a note first and then pressing Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V.

Nothing gets copied. Looks like “Select all” is greyed out, even when the note is active(and my cursor is clicked inside of the note). Oh wait..the shortcut, ‘Ctrl-A’ does select all..and I can do a Ctrl-C to copy..

seems I’d do this, in the absence of a straight forward way(ie right click on a note, copy & paste )

Agreed…Ctrl-C & Ctrl-V on a note to duplicate across notebooks would be great…and/or contextual menu option(right click), to ‘copy note’ and paste option on target.
