What issue do you have?
When creating a new note in a shared notebook on Android, the geolocation (GPS coordinates) is not saved in the note properties. The same note created in a non-shared notebook correctly stores the geolocation.
This is relevant for anyone using Joplin as a travel journal, where the automatic location tagging of notes is an important feature.
Steps to reproduce
- Share a notebook with another user via Joplin Server
- On Android, create a new note in the shared notebook
- Open note properties -> Location field is empty
- Create a new note in a non-shared notebook
- Open note properties -> Location is correctly populated
Expected behaviour
Geolocation should be saved regardless of whether the notebook is shared or not, as long as the user has write permissions and location access is granted to the app.
Actual behaviour
Geolocation is only saved for notes in non-shared notebooks. Notes created in shared notebooks have no location data.
BTW
- It would be nice to see the Coordinates in settings and not only the link to a map
- Sometimes android has no location. In this case it would be nice to get a feedback at creating a new note. Though you are aware that your travel journal is missing this location.
