I wanted to improve Joplin mobile app and fixed many bugs and added some new features like select all notes, filter notes, show passwords ( can’t use right now, because of privacy issue ), adding a notebook on clicking action button. autosave for notebooks, but now I am out of ideas. So I thought why not ask the community, what features you all would love to see, I will try my best to implement them. Or any bug that you are facing? ( I don’t have an IOS device right now, so can’t fix IOS specific bugs, but if anyone is ready to test it, I can try.)

I would like to see better performance. Currently the app is painfully slow at times, maybe it’s just me?
As for features, I personally do not care much for markdown so I’d prefer a simple text-based mode - I find it really annoying having to press back button twice to get from editing a note back to notes list.

I’m missing an option for show-only-notebooks-tree sidebar.

What do you mean by notebook sidebar tree? Can you please explain, I mean we still have sidebar with notebooks in it.
Only the notebooks without the sync info, configuration box or All notes.
I have many notebooks…

On android:
Add a tag to selected (multiple) pages.
Add a tag to all pages in a notebook.
Copy selected pages’ markdown links.

They sound reasonable but you have quite a lot of open PR make sure that they can be closed or gives us time to review them, respectively.
You can work on the feature but wait a second for the PR.

For IOS I would like to see an option to Search and Replace markdown text.
But the current buglist deserves more attention, imho.

- re-arrange notebooks by drag’n’drop or any other way. Right now, it is impossible to rearrange notebooks on mobile (only on desktop).
- introduce favorites or better star-rating system. Of course, there are tags, but they are not so obviously convenient as such rating star system as for images, for example. I imagine literally five empty stars on a toolbar that can be click-marked. Or at least a pulldown menu. And, of course, then the ability to see only marked notes.

My two cents - Android syncing leaves a little to be desired, especially when syncing an Android device into a large note collection for the first time. The syncing is pretty slow and stops every time the screen goes blank (due to power saving). As a result, I have to set the display timeout to 10 min, and still remember to keep it awake periodically. My collection has 3630 notes and 5800 total items. It takes around 20-25 min for first sync.
What I would like:
- Background syncing
- Sync periodically without opening app
- Faster syncing (fyi, I’m syncing via Nextcloud) - maybe with multithreaded, multi connections to server?
Relatedly, I have a bug right now where my Android phone, which had been syncing fine, seems to be stuck in an infinite loop of not syncing properly. Two notes shows as encrypted and the sync status in the bar keeps popping up with “Decrypting 1/4” cycling up to “Decrypting 4/4” extremely quickly. The two encrypted notes never get decrypted.

I really, really would like to have the same theme options like in the desktop app.
I would really like to have a markup editor in the mobile version (Android) a bit like Evernote, with some icons to activate the markup code, maybe with a toggable WYSIWYG mode:
This would be great for who doesn’t know the markup code. I really like this app, I use it now with my nextcloud account on every device I have.

I believe the next update (should be out soon) will include this via an opt in toggle in the settings.

The photos or attachments stored by Joplin cannot be shared with other APPs. I hope to improve the attachment sharing function. Thank you
