As of version 3.4.2 (when the “Viewer and Rich Text Editor font family” setting was added), Joplin now has settings to change every font, except for the monospace font that’s used in the markdown viewer and rich text editor.
It would be great if there was also a setting for “Viewer and Rich Text Editor monospace font family” that allowed users to set the monospace font for the markdown viewer/rich text editor.
Rationale:
- Consistency - this is now the only font family setting that’s missing from the settings UI
- Consistency - (unless you use custom css), changing the monospace font in the joplin settings UI results in a completely different monospace font used in the markdown editor vs markdown preview/rich text editor. IMO most users would desire consistent fonts across editors.
- Discoverability - Using custom css to configure a basic setting such as the default font isn’t very user-friendly
