Dear Joplin Team,
Hello! I really enjoy using Joplin for note-taking, and it has been a great tool for me. As someone who loves the product, I always hope to see it improve. Since I have a large number of notes (over 3,000), I would like to make two suggestions. If they could be implemented, that would be fantastic:
1. Note Archiving Feature:
Due to the large number of notes, many of them may not be accessed for a long time, but I don’t want to delete them. These notes take up a significant amount of disk space, and when installing a new client, it takes a long time to download all of them (especially on mobile devices). Could you add a note archiving feature? This would allow these notes to be archived, with only the directory structure and article titles displayed in the front end. When needed, users could manually download the archived notes, which would open in read-only mode. If editing is required, users could unarchive the note.
2. Expand/Collapse Functionality for Joplin Web Clipper:
Similarly, because of the large number of notes (and directories), when using Joplin Web Clipper to save web content (in Markdown format), it takes a lot of effort to navigate through the “In notebook” tree. Could you add an expand/collapse functionality to this tree (defaulting to collapsed)? This would allow users to quickly locate the target directory for saving notes.
Thank you for your hard work and consideration! I believe these improvements would greatly enhance the user experience, especially for those with a large number of notes. Looking forward to your feedback!
Best regards
