New user enjoying the Evernote -> Joplin migration.

Just one quick question....
If I mail a note into my Joplin Cloud archive (where content is E2E encrypted), how is the content of the note then encrypted?

It is not encrypted. Making it encrypted would require processing the email client-side and that's not really possible since the email can potentially be sent from any mail client, including browser-based ones.

Does the note get encrypted later, when synced to a client with E2EE enabled?

At the moment, only if it's modified. Then it's encrypted and uploaded
