I detected an inconvenient behaviour on Windows 10 with Joplin 1.0.201: When selecting a text, it can be emphasized in bold via the shortcut ctrl+b. Triggering ctrl+b again will surround the text with another set of stars (which doesn’t have any meaning in markdown). Screencast of the problem:
The same problem appears when using the toolbar, or emphasis with italics (ctrl+i). I’m not sure if it’s a bug or a missing feature, hence my post in this forum.
Expected behaviour: The repeated triggering of ctrl+b should alternate between emphasized and normal text. This is solved elegantly in Typora:
(note also that Typora doesn’t require the selection of the whole word)
