What issue do you have?

Hi,

I'm trying to sync Joplin between the Mac and Android aoos via Dropbox.

The Wizard flow seems to work fine on both platforms - I can see that there's a Joplin "Apps" folder in DropBox, Joplin is syncing (something) on Joplin's Mac Desktop app and Joplin's Android App, howeve the issue is that I have 670 notes on desktop, with lots of tags, and this where I originally started, on the android app I only have 200 notes and no tags after trying to sync multiple times. I'm very confused.

I did not use the same token generated by Dropbox when I went into the sync configuration option on the respective platforms, but the dropbox accounts being used should be the same. I tried to use the same token generated when in the wizard on Desktop, but the Android app didn't let me, I don't know if this is relevant or not.

Thanks for your help!

Does this number slightly increase or stay the exact same everytime you sync? You can check it on android somewhere in settings sync status. If it increases slowly, try keeping your device awake overnight for a full sync using tools such as caffeine to prevent automatic sleep.

Seems like something went wrong, please start over following this guide: How to fix synchronisation issues and start over

Just before importing your JEX, maybe just create a few notes and tags to quickly check that sync is fully working, then only import your large JEX and sync.

but the Android app didn't let me

Maybe share screenshots of your dropbox issue.

@mrkristiansson When you press the sync button on the Android app does it say it has completed after a few seconds? If not and the icon continues spinning, then the initial sync has not yet completed. Please note, on the mobile app you must keep the screen on and the Joplin app open (and in the foreground) while the sync runs, as background sync is not supported.

You can keep the screen on permanently using a third party app such as https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=moe.zhs.caffeine

Or you can google how to enable developer options on your phone, and disable screen timeout from there.
