Does Joplin Cloud have server side trashcan?

Just got asked the question by user who accidentally "felt" like she (lets call her V.) deleted her notes on the cloud (dropbox in her case). As far as I know there wasn't any data loss, the issue was probably caused by confusing deletion of notehistory items with the notes, we talked through few options of client backup Joplin has in place and overall the matter been resolved.

In the end V. felt most assured that dropbox actually doesn't delete files right away, placing them in the trashcan first. Thinking of the possible switch to Joplin Cloud, she asked me if Joplin Cloud has any kind of trashcan (or db snapshot or server side backup etc).

As I understand, surely Joplin Cloud as a service has backups/snapshots but I'm not sure how feasible it is for user to access previous state of her files.

Hence, the question in the title

I read through FAQ section of Joplin Cloud including data retention policy but couldn't find answer to this question.

Joplin Cloud is not a file management platform so it doesn't have a recycle bin, nor in fact a way to delete items from the web UI. Everything is done on client side (where a recycle bin is present).

This in fact more or less by design, to avoid the kind of scenario you described because if there's an option to delete stuff, people will use it, and will be surprised that things are deleted, and won't have a backup. So to avoid this, it can't be done in Joplin Cloud which largely reduces the number of unexpected deletions.

As for the server-side backups, this is just for us as part of our disaster recovery plan but we can't use it to restore just one account or item.
