I'm just getting started with Joplin, but taking it slow... While I'm generally comfortable with computers, I'm 70 years old and am finding it increasingly difficult to understand things.
For example, right now I can't figure out the difference between "Copy Markdown link" and "Copy external link." The first one is clear to me, but I don’t understand the second one. The result is really confusing to me. I searched in this forum, but I can’t make sense of what I read about these links.
Can someone explain to me what the “external link” is for?

An external link for a note is a link that could be accessed from something like a desktop shortcut or another application. It is used from outside (or external to) Joplin and causes Joplin to open at the note selected.
