I left Evernote years ago, and no notes taking app I've used since has offered multiple windows or panes, except Bear (which is Mac only and lacks some very good features Joplin has). Notion, Notejoy, Nimbus/Fusebase, etc. None of them have it. I assume those who are shocked by Joplin having it haven't tried many other notes apps.

That said, I've just started with Joplin today, and the ability to look at notes side by side is incredibly helpful for my workflow. It would be great as either a feature or a plugin. I'm trying to get used to using Typora, but the notes frequently won't open (big quite box that says "Untitled" at the top). I'll make do with Notes Tabs, since that's closer than anything the other apps had. But I often rewrite/condense/expand notes into new notes, and that's why being able to look at them at the same time would be ideal.
