Could not upgrade from version 1 to version 2

Hi there! I am using Joplin for Mac (v. 2.9.17), and also the Joplin Android app (v. 2.8.1).

I am using the File System synchronization target set to a directory on my Android phone. I am using the same function on my Macbook. I use syncthing to keep these folders synchronised, and syncthing seems to be working fine.

If I make any changes, and synchronise, I am presented with this error:

Does anybody have any ideas as to how to resolve this? If I delete the file in question, the error goes away, but the notes are not synchronised. I am using encryption on both devices.
