Correct snap paket

Hello,

I would like to install the joplin app in Ubuntu 20.04. I found 4 snap pakets that looks like the same:

Does anyone know what is the difference and is their a recommended version ?

There isn't a difference between the two but pick joplin-desktop. joplin-james-carroll only recieves updates because there's no way to automatically migrate people over to the newer name, but eventually when the amount of users decreases I'll stop updating it, even though this is likely a long way off at the moment.

Officially though, Joplin only supports the AppImage version.

The other 2 snaps are very different, one is the command line version of Joplin (joplin) which is still maintained (but not by me) and the other is a very old version of Joplin with the GUI that hasn't recieved any updates from its maintainer in over a year.

I have moved your topic to the #support category. The template for the #apps category specifically states the following:

!!! This category is not for questions or requests !!!

If you wrote an app, script, tool, this is the place to

  • promote it
  • document it
  • make it available to others
