I have installed Joplin and desktop and Android mobile, syncing via dropbox, and they are working well. I have just installed it on my Android tablet too and it doesn't work. I connect to dropbox, I can see it's fetching like 72 items (and deleting some... why? I don't have anything in the tablet Joplin, deleted the welcome stuff and emptied Trash). Si it fetched items, but they never appear. It's all empty. I tried clearing data/cache. I de-installed, installed again. Done it now 4-5 times. Same result. It seemingly fetched the items, but there are no notes, nothing can be seen.
I then created a notebook and some test notes on the tablet and they turned up on my mobile and desktop, so it's defo syncing to the right dropbox.
Still nothing visible on tablet except the note I created there.
On the initial sync which is fetching items, does it go on forever or it actually completes? If it goes on indefinately, try killing the app and restarting it. I found that this happens with the Dropbox sync, when I set up a new device
It actually completes. I did kill the app and restarted, de-installed, installed again. Same thing, I can't see anything from drop-box, but whatever I enter on tablet turns up on the devices.
Yes. If I press on 'Synchronise', it seemingly works on it for a second, then comes back saying completed. If I press on it again and again, it does the same.
I created a test note on desktop in the notebook I started on tablet and that has updated on tablet, but I still cannot see the rest that is on the desktop (and mobile).
I also made changes to an item created before (not visible on tablet) and it get fetched when syncing.
So it seems the tablet is syncing only the notebook that got created on it.
Actually, I created a new notebook on desktop and it got sync-ed to tablet! So I'm confused now. Why didn't it sync items that were already there when I installed on tablet and connected via dropbox?
Update: I manage to get around it. I exported all my notes on desktop. Deleted them on desktop and mobile, then imported them again on desktop and hey presto... it turned up on tablet and mobile. No idea why I had to do that, but at least now it's working.
