What issue do you have?
Hi,
just a question to understand
"switching on"
the beta encryption feature:
If I do this, will all my notes be reencrypted and I need to sync them again?
Best regards,
No, only new notes will be encrypted with the new method. If you want to re-encrypt everything you can do so from the desktop app, in Encryption => Advanced options => Re-encrypt data

So you recommend now the beta encryption?
Do I have to switch it on in all clients - Desktop and android or will this be done automaticaly when I switch it on in 1 client?
If I would do reencryption, how does this work?
I would start this on my desktop and let it run over night - so far so good. My desltop ist fairly fast and my internet connection is not bad. But my wifi for the android phone is not good because I have to use a powerline adapter for the wifi. (Any chance to make the 1st inital database tranfer via a file??)
Than all the notes are new encrypted in the joplin cloud.
But what will the android device do?
Reload at once everything ? Or will it be smart because it could still decrypt the "old" notes with the old method and use the new one step by step? So I would have access all the time to my notes on the android device.
I am asking because syncing was taking several days on my android to 1st create the notes and than download all attachments and than decrypt everything. Finaly it looks like that everything was synced fine to my android but this is not something you want to do to often.
It would be great to be able to select which Notebook to be synced 1st, so it could be done step by step, that you have your most important notebook 1st and available on the mobile device.
Right now I am happy with the result on my android device.
I want and need my notes offline - it is faster and also available if you are sitting in concrete basement with no internet avaialble and than you need a manual to sort out problems with a device ...
Best regards,
