That didn't fix things here. Updated to 1.4.0 and Joplin 2.14.x and ran a manual backup...
then...

Suggestions?

A similar issue was caused by a Joplin bug. Make sure you're using the latest 2.14.x version of Joplin!

Noted above. Problem remains.

Just to double-check, does Help > About Joplin show v2.14.15?

Broken in 2.14.12 and 2.14.15

It's working for me on Joplin 2.14.15, Windows 11, Backup plugin v1.4.0. I upgraded from 2.13.5 to 2.14.15 directly though. Maybe it's related to upgrading from 2.14.x -> 2.14.15?

Would you be willing to try first uninstalling then reinstalling Simple Backup (reinstall instructions)?

Thanks but I've already tried reinstallation without success. The odd thing (as I mentioned upstream) is that the path given in the error popup does not exist. I have no "7zip-bin" directory under the ... /io.github.jackgruber.backup/ back up directory. Not sure why.

So I manually "created" the parth, grabbing a 7za.exe from elsewhere, and all works.

I was wondering about this too - @JackGruber, what is the official name of the plugin? I'm writing the release notes for 2.14 and I named it "Simple Backup" but indeed I found other names here and there

There should only be Backup, because it is no longer Simple with all the functions.
Until the last release, the simple only appeared in one place in the name, where I had forgotten it.

That makes sense, although it does make things simpler for a lot of users.

Thank you for the rename.

Hello
Is it compatible with the mobile version ?
I would like to export the data from Ubuntu to put it in the Android application

No

You can only Export on Android. Import is at the moment not possible.

Hi
Thank you for the quick reply.
I turn this into a suggestion to be able to import the full backup to the android app

How does the "Command on Backup finish" setting work? I give the full path to a shell script, but it doesn't seem to run after a backup is done.

The README page here joplin-plugin-backup/README.md at master ยท JackGruber/joplin-plugin-backup ยท GitHub doesn't mention the "Command on Backup finish" setting.

On windows the following would work:

  • C:\path\cmdScript.cmd
  • powershell -f C:\path\psScript.ps1
  • c:\path\test.exe
  • cmd /c echo 1 >> c:\temp\test.log
  • ...

Possible you have to executre your shell script with the bash/shell like the powershell example from windows.

v1.4.1 (2024-03-10)

  • Fix: Don't show There is no Data to export on empty profiles and automatic backups #71

Hi

Thanks a lot for this plugin

Is there a way to see the progress of a backup in progress or to know how much time is left?

that would be nice indeed, yes
