I use Joplin on multiple Windows desktop PCs, and one Android device (Samsung Galaxy S10, Android 12), all synced to my personal OneDrive account. Sync has worked properly in this config for multiple years. Today sync seemed hung on the Android device - "synchronizing" for multiple minutes when it normally takes seconds. Tried closing & restarting, after which nothing happens when I select the "Synchronize" option. After multiple restarts I uninstalled and reinstalled Joplin. Now when I try to set up OneDrive synch, Joplin appears to successfully accept my Microsoft credentials but does not actually load or synchronize my notebooks (just keeps returning me to the OneDrive login page). Behavior is the same whether I successfully log in to OneDrive using my password or via Authenticator. Logs attached. Can you suggest next steps for resolving?
See my last comment. I suspect your old clients used the Graph folder and your new installation now created a Joplin folder under the Apps dir on OneDrive.
I think you are going to need to make a jex backup of all notes from your Windows pc, then import it onto your phone and let it fully sync. But then in order to make your Windows clients share the same sync data, you should create a new profile in Joplin on each of those computers and set the sync to your OneDrive account so it can download the data synced on the mobile app.
NB: Don't attempt to rename the Graph folder on OneDrive, as it would likely cause problems
Actually I just re-read your post. Ignore my previous post. Although it may be helpful to check if you have both a Graph and Joplin folder under Apps on OneDrive anyway.
Sounds like you are not actually able to log into OneDrive from your phone anymore?
If you create a new profile on one of your Windows Joplin clients and log into OneDrive on there, does that work and sync your data? (You can switch back to your original profile and delete the new profile after testing this).
I have attempted logging into OneDrive on the same version of Joplin on Android and I don't have an issue logging in (running on Android 14). It may be an issue relating to 2 factor authentication (I don't have it enabled). Do you happen to remember if you had 2FA enabled on your account when you originally set up Joplin?
Thanks for the replies. Please try to bear with me as I don't have your technical knowledge. I believe that the problem has resolved itself, but I don't know how or why.
As background, I have a single notebook with ~600 notes. Before I did anything today, my OneDrive>Apps>Joplin folder showed ~3000 items.
After Joplin on my Android client failed to sync yesterday (I'm certain I had working connectivity), I took no further action until today. On launching it today, it started synching to OneDrive (so to answer your question, the OneDrive login appears to have worked, even though it didn't appear so yesterday). I watched it first back up the 5 default notes from the new install I did yesterday, then fetch & create ~3000 local items. Then it deleted about 900 of them, then indicated that the synch was completed. My OneDrive>Apps>Joplin folder now shows ~2100 items.
For my two PC clients, I then disabled all connectivity, and performed local Joplin backups and JEX exports. Then I reconnected both to the network, launched Joplin, and synched them. Both syncs completed successfully, and the number of items shown in the OneDrive>Apps>Joplin folder changed only slightly (increased by a couple of items). All three clients now show the same/correct number of notes (605).
I did not set up Joplin with 2FA. I don't appear to have a Graphs folder in my OneDrive>Apps folder (see attached screen shots).
Do you believe my issue is in fact resolved, or is something problematic occurring?
