Account over limit - deleting notes does not help

I have configured Joplin with Joplin cloud, basic subscription trial.
After importing my Evernote notebooks, space was exceeded.
Now after deleting several notebooks and multiple notes containing pictures, the size has not decreased.
The status said "Deleted remote items: n" and counted while syncing.
I have read in some threads that this was an issue that should have been fixed.
Is there any way for me to fix this without diving into Python and the Joplin API?

Versions below:

Joplin 2.11.11 (prod, win32)
Sync Version: 3
Profile Version: 43
Keychain Supported: Yes
Revision: 6886f6f

Windows 10 Pro, version 21H1, build 19043.2364

Here are some things to try:

  • decreasing the note history limit — by default it's set to 90 days. (See the note history tab in settings). A large note history limit may cause Joplin to continue to try to sync deleted notebooks.
  • deleting large attachments. To do this, first consider making a backup. Next, go to any note and open the "Tools" menu. Click "Note Attachments":

Next click the "sort" arrow by "Size":

Finally, click "delete" for any large attachments that aren't needed.

Thanks for the tip  I do have a lot of attachments, roughly 600 in the range 300 kB to 2 MB.
Unfortunately, it seems like I'd have to delete them one by one.
I have already disabled note history, btw, and waited a couple of days for thing to settle.

Not sure if it's just a time issue or because I deleted attachments, but now the size has decreased and syncing is working as normal again.
