What issue do you have?

  1. I'm trying to update Joplin on my old laptop, with the current (redundant) backup sync file from my regular laptop, which is off to be repaired. I managed to bring all the notes in (thousands), but without file structure, so that was a mess and I deleted everything. I don't have a jex file, just the backup sync file. How do I import it so the file structure is intact?
  2. A few years ago a helper instructed me to turn on developer tools while troubleshooting a Joplin issue, but didn't tell me how to disable it, so since then it boots with Joplin every time. I can toggle it off, but that gets old. How can I permanently disable it?

Screenshots

I cannot help with (1) but for (2) delete the file flags.txt in ~/.config/joplin-desktop.

I searched for that file before posting, and it did not show up. I did a complete laptop search v a Joplin directory search.

EDIT: I found it - somehow I missed your extremely helpful exact location of the file. Thank you @dpoulton!

Using commands I found in a different post, I performed a full uninstall, including profile data, then I did a fresh install and following instructions in the Welcome folder, I imported the markdown directory, with partial success. I've taken a few screenshots, but don't see where I can upload them in a reply... Basically, I'm back to a plethora of unfiled documents. Maybe I was supposed to use this code instead of a simple import of the folder?
import --format md /path/to/file.md or import --format md /path/to/directory/
