I'm a MacOS user dedicated to using the Safari browser. I'm very interested in being able to use this to create notes that include web clips which I can sync through Dropbox to all my Apple devices, but only if I can use the Safari browser. I saw a post about a plugin from 2020, but the post mentioned that there were going to be new add-ons coming from Safari.

For iOS, the Web clipping on iOS thread is the latest discussion, while the Mobile Web Clipper companions thread lists existing workarounds.
I would like to ask a question unrelated to the topic. What could be the reason for wanting to use open-source software like Joplin in a closed-source and quite restrictive browser like Safari?
